(December 9th, 2011) The Pulin Community and Business Center is launching a Social Enterprise/ Business Development Program to the Zhytomyrska Oblast. Alex Brzhezytskyy organized a conference in Zhytomyr inviting respectable and experienced representatives to speak about social enterprise in Ukraine. Social enterprise is a fairly new concept in Ukraine, but is gaining popularity due to international success and growth. There were 6 guest speakers from Ukraine who represented a varied level of expertise and knowledge. There were 22 NGO organizations who attended. The event was a great success, many questions were asked and answered. Our organization built relationships with partner organizations who fully support our regional development program. Alex and Peace Corps Volunteer Ben Fresquez, will be starting Social Enterprise development seminars to focus on business plan development. The seminars will be in Zhytomyr beginning in February. We will also be piloting our program in the town on Chervonoarmis’k. We are very excited about the opportunity to see the potential of SE development and to introduce it to the Zhytomyrska region.
